Sinopsis:
Gina McVey (Lena Headey), joven radióloga de un importante hospital londinense, acude a la celebración del cumpleaños de su padre, John (Richard Jenkins). Entre los invitados se encuentra su novio Stefan (Melvil Poupaud), su hermano Daniel (Asier Newman) y la novia de éste, Kate (Michelle Duncan). Durante la cena, mientras charlan animadamente, un gran espejo de pared se hace añicos sin motivo aparente provocando entre los asistentes el brote de una tensión inexistente hasta ese momento. Al día siguiente, de camino a casa, Gina cree ver en la calle a una mujer que guarda un asombroso parecido con ella. Sobrecogida, decide seguirla hasta su apartamento, donde, al encontrar la puerta abierta, descubrirá horrorizada una fotografía de su padre con esa otra mujer, un doble perfecto de sí misma. A partir de ese momento, la paranoia se apodera de ella y comenzará a dudar incluso de sus propios allegados.
